Yes, I know that I am VERY behind with this game because it came out ages ago and I am only getting around to playing it now. I didn’t buy it for myself because I knew that I was getting it for Christmas. Opening Horizon Zero Dawn that morning was amazing, I wanted to get stuck right in. I am still in the middle of playing it, so no spoilers etc.
I love reading gaming blogs like it is arguably one of my favourite things to do. But I have been avoiding any spoilers of this game like Neo in the Matrix.
It might not sound tough, but I can tell you that it was because of all the awards buzz around the game. Horizon Zero dawn was growing from strength to strength when I picked up my copy and settled down ready to kick ass and take names.
That is how I started all prepped and ready, NEEDLESS to say friends and neighbours, I have been on an emotional roller-coaster because of this game. Starting from the beginning, the map is not huge, but it is tough going because of the machines and how vicious some of them are. You don’t stay hooked to this game because of the machines though, I have one name for you: Aloy. She is a bad ass, outcast and still able to take names. the emotional roller-coaster comes into play when you think that things are going so well for her.
Let’s just say… don’t get attached to anyone, it is like Game of Thrones, have a favourite and you know what happens to them… That being said, play this game, seriously, do it as soon as you can.
Gameplay – 10/10
Presentation – 10/10
Enjoyment – 9/10
Final Score: 29/30
This game is hard to find fault with, but the only thing that annoyed me was that a few times I found glitches that really annoyed me (once when I was fighting a Thunderjaw… if you have played the game you know those things are tough enough as it is!)
